The Government of India through a media release recently informed that there would be a revision of the pension bailed out to ex-servicemen, under the recommendation of 7th Pay Commission Report, which was issued on October 29, 2016.

24 public sector banks have already revised the pension of 18, 99,697 pensioners and have paid Rs 5883.27 crore approximately. The same information was submitted in the Lok Sabha by Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Subhash Bhamre in a written reply to Arvind Sawant, Member of Parliament.

Revision of pension will not only boost the morale of the army personnel, but it will also encourage new people to join the force, believe military experts. Indian army is combating a massive shortage of officers presently. Currently, the Indian Army needs more than 9000 personnel to work towards national security.
